How Bros Began

Bros officially opened on September 5th, 2018, but the idea started long before that day. Our owner served in the military and, after retiring, returned home with a desire to build something meaningful alongside his brother. Their original plan was to purchase their grandfather’s Ford dealership, but when that opportunity did not work out, they shifted direction rather than giving up. That moment became the spark that led to Bros. What started as a new path forward quickly became a business rooted in family, service, and community commitment.

Built on Military Values & Small-Town Roots

Military service shaped how we operate. Discipline, accountability, and showing up when others rely on you are values we carry into our business every day. Those principles blend naturally with the small-town mindset of Martin, where people depend on one another and reputations matter. As a locally operated gas station, we take pride in being dependable through all seasons. When winter storms sweep across Bennett County or summer travel traffic increases, we stay ready to serve.

Locally Owned Convenience Store That Gives Back

Being a locally owned convenience store means more to us than running a business. It means reinvesting in the town that supports us. We are active members of the local chamber of commerce and proud sponsors of community events that bring people together. Over the years, we have been a featured sponsor for the local fair, the high school rodeo, school sporting events, and golf course scorecards. Supporting these events is our way of saying thank you to Martin and helping keep local traditions strong.

Serving Locals & Travelers Alike

Martin sits along a well-traveled route, which brings a steady flow of out-of-state drivers through town every day. For travelers, Bros may be their first or last stop before miles of open highway. For locals, we are a familiar place to fuel up, grab a drink, or catch up with someone you know. We take that role seriously. Clean spaces, friendly service, and consistency are not extras for us. They are expectations we meet every day.

Open Year-Round for South Dakota Living

Living in South Dakota means preparing for unpredictable weather. Snow, wind, heat, and sudden temperature changes all affect daily routines. That is why we stay open 365 days a year. Whether it is a holiday, a stormy night, or an early morning before sunrise, we believe our doors should be open when people need us. Being reliable through all seasons is part of what defines us as a locally operated gas station that understands rural life.

Family-Owned & Community-Focused

Bros remains family-owned and operated, and that shows in how we run our store. Decisions are made locally, not from a corporate office far away. We listen to customer feedback, adapt to local needs, and keep our focus on service rather than volume. Our goal has never been to be the biggest stop on the highway. Instead, we aim to be the most dependable and welcoming one.

More Than a Business

For us, Bros is not just a convenience store or gas station. It is a place where community connections happen. It is where neighbors stop in after work, where travelers stretch their legs, and where local events find support. We are proud of where we started and grateful for the support that has allowed us to grow into a trusted part of Martin.
